    it took me a while to start programming, but once you have the basics down, the advanced topics won't look nearly as intimidating and will become more accessible.
    it really isn't that difficult to get started with processing, although its definitely helpful if you know even the slightest bit about OOP programming before jumping in. the processing manual(the one put out by mit press) is probably the most comprehensive book written on programming that i have ever read. its all in there: intro to programming syntax, trigonometric functions, circuitry (for physical computing), how digital audio and video are processed. plus it was written by the creators of processing, ben fry and casey reas, who obviously know their shit. good luck with it!
