  like it or not.
  photography is not solely about technique anymore.

  point of view, in the sense of cultural environment or background is so much more important. and the particular way of looking at things and subjective selection can make or break a photographer. in that sense, photography as a business model for succes, things have diversified and differentiated from the classical standards of good photography.

  so, terry is known for his particular style/subject, not for being a technically masterful photographer.

  they, the "masters", will still exist, but next to their audience there's a whole world of distinct target audiences with a different set of expectations in regard to art.
