  Apple brought a sense of design to the masses.
  Packing electronics on neat box that ( used on the perfume industry before) is a HUGE hit, today people that have nothing to do with design buy apple laptops just to project an image, just like people do with clothes.

  Apple got a great reputation because of this, and people that have no clue about design, list apple as their only source of reference.
