maybe it's in the thread and i didn't pick it up, but which camera body do you have? if it doesn't have a full frame sensor, you might want to go with the 35mm 1.4 (i have an xti and i went with this option instead because of the 1.6 sensor factor... which basically makes it a 50mm). btw, i have the 24-70 and it's an amazing lens, but i've been using the 35 a lot more since i bought it...
