Private companies have engineered some pretty unique/fast/safe methods these days - they can go in and suck oil out rather quickly leaving a ridiculously low footprint in comparison to years past...

... anyway - whenever I hear the argument that ANYTHING is going to take time...

... I think back to when I was 23 and thought to myself... "shit - if I start college now... I won't finish until I'm 27 at the earliest given my personal situation... why bother?"

:) I hope you see my point.

    ----

Side Point: We (the U.S.) are the Saudi Arabia of Coal. Coal can be liquefied / engineered into a gasoline source.

Did you know that Hitler (and this is back in the 30's) did all his conquering w/out any oil? It was all engineered coal. :)

I do realize it's a fossil fuel / non-renewable resource... but we do have it in abundance and SOMETHING needs to happen here.

    • It can almost be practically stated that Hitler lost the war BECAUSE of his lack of availability to oil.simple_space
    • lol... so it had nothing to do with the allied powers coming together like they did...PonyBoy
    • ... and no... i'm not interested in arguing about this... you too are purposely missing the point. ;)PonyBoy
    • I catch your point, but in the end, his engineered coal was not enough, the same way it wouldn't be nowsimple_space
    • so your point is 'don't bother'?
something has to happen... and there aren't any immediate 'other resources' just yet...

    • ... now i'm back to my 'why goto school' point. :)PonyBoy
    • Nuclear is another resource.simple_space
    • yes yes!! :)
... although - I've been 'nuking' my food for years now. :)
