In response to why redesign, I am a bit torn. Part of me loves how horribly people have designed their pages. The thing is that THEY think it's cool. It's like going into their messy room and getting a true sense of who they are.

On the other hand, the MySpace experience is crap. Basically: too much going on. As a result most of the early profiles were over the top trashy pages that put a lot of people off. I liked this raw aspect of MySpace but most non-teenagers made the jump from Friendster to Facebook.

I think the important thing is that MySpace is not Facebook. It will never be that. It definitely needs to be brought to 2008 as Jevad said but it still needs to find a way to retain some of it's raw crappiness else it looses it's authenticity.
