As corny as it sounds, Niagara Falls is a reasonably close drive away and worth checking out. The Maid of the Mist boat tour is cool. The area near the Falls has lots of wineries and you can ride a bike to many of them. I especially liked the Jackson Triggs winery which offers a tour.
