My Dad was window-dresser (do they still call them that?). So there was always screen-printing stuff around. I used to buy Letrasets with my pocket money since I was about 10. I really wanted to become an architect, but that was just a crazy dream.
I had pretty much decided to become a chef – had a job lined up but found out I would be working nights and weekends for the first 5 or 6 years. This clashed horribly with my musical aspirations, so I ditched it (to my parents’ horror). Started out doing flyers an posters for my band, then other bands, then “hey presto” graphic designer.
Upon reflection, I wish I had followed through on the chef thing...
