No, it isn't ultimately your fault, although if you are in a position to re-educate your client on expectations and realistic deadlines, then by all means do so and be firmer next time.
If the site is riddled with inconsistencies, by no means should it go in your portfolio. I think it's a no-brainer. It sucks, but don't show any work that has evident problems.
