I bought my wife a ring for 2,500. It was 4 small diamonds in an invisible setting, so it looked link one huge stone. Then five years later I get her an emerald ring, that was double the first one.
Unless your girl hates the norm, go with a diamond. She's got to show this to her friends and explainit...
