Do it, you sound like you've got very little to lose in the event it doesn't work out. You won't be saddled with repaying the loan and you've got a chance to work for yourselves rather than for someone else.
I don't think I could work in an office environment any more. There's lots to learn about running your own business but you'll pick it up, especially with family/friends who already run their own businesses.
