  Yeah, they are but they'll last a lifetime. You can replace each individual part in case something does break. But they're made to last. The mesh is great because there isn't a surface to absorb anything and it's nice and cool.
  I paid $725 for mine, new. I never questioned the decision and after back pains, that's dirt cheap.

  Now if only they could make a better 3d navigation device to save my wrist...
