    never tried the couch-surfing site, but have heard some good things about it.

    my advice is to just purchase a eurail pass and go. seriously, if you have no plans you could just book night train travel from place to place along the eurail. it's like $25 extra for a night cabin, but it saves you the hotel/hostel room cost (which may or may not be worth it). it just depends on your travel style really.

    you have no plans, but do you have a general direction? or places you wnat to see? shoot me an email if you want. i am by no means an expert (only been there once last may, but we went with no plan and no places booked... and it worked out pretty well!)
