My company chose it over Flash, mainly because we're in bed with Microsoft and they like to cater to us (and vice versa) and secondly because we program exclusively with Visual Studio so this was a natural progression and didn't seem to scare most of our developers like Flash did... *gunshot to crotch*.
...
I of course haven't touched Silverlight because I'm not a real programmer, I just get paid like one for some reason.
