Jesus, 10k people.
I was literally just reading the BBC headline on this just now, having been surprised by the earlier raising to of the toll to 4k.
It's a horrible thing to say, but perhaps the international aid demanded by the situation will force a wedge into the autocracy and promote change there, at long last?
