  well, he initially thought that the bank would not cash his check. but anyway, the thing is he had the chance to take completely legally $95000 from a bank, which obviously wouldn't miss it that much. and he gave it back...
  i still don't get it. the moral of the story is what? don't accept money that nobody is going to miss and that according to the law belong to you?
