    1. Large work table(s)...depends on how many people in the studio. There are 7 of us, we have 2 large tables. Tables only need to be above waist height (preferably stomach-height), sturdy and smooth.

    2. Large self-healing cutting mats.

    3. What detritus said.

    4. Plenty of spray-mounting materials: spray mount, black boards, at least one good brush for wiping off, a burnisher

    5. Plenty of x-acto blades and 2–3 handles

    6. Paper towels & 409 spray

    7. Rulers: Staedtler (or is it Schaedler? You know, the clear plastic rulers that are super precise). A t-square. One metal 18" ruler.

    8. Lightbox. Even if you only work w/ digital images, it will be super handy when doing hand-mocked books w/ backed-up pages.

    • 9. Cool old Coke bottle for discarded x-acto blades.gramme
    • I'm a metal rule man, myself. I've nearly cut my fingers off too many times with shear-edged plastic rulers!detritus
