Panther on a G4 400? hmmm...not sure how that will go, hopefully it will be ok, but i'd max the memory though. It should be fine, but you may not be able to get the full potential out of Panther.
i'm on a G4 450 with 512mb at work and it does well with 10.2.6. although i can't use it often because i'm the only one with OS X. we found problems going from OS X to OS 9 using Photoshop 6 and 7. kept corrupting files, so they made me stay on 9.2.2, bastardo's.
