windows isn't buggy because microsoft can't build a good os, it's buggy becuase of all the third party software you install that wasn't programmed correctly... windows is a forgiving os and programming errors can go unnoticed quite easily...

also, let's think about the platform for a second... the mac os is built around a known hardware specification... meaning that there are less variables in play. ergo (heh) when a software engineer is writing a program for the mac os, he/she knows the possible system hardware combinations already... they enjoy the same benefits as ps2, xbox or gamecube developers. with pc's, on the other hand, things aren't as simple... for starters, microsoft has no idea what kind of setup you have, nor can they anticipate what rogue software you're gonna isntall... so they're already off to a bad start. second the 3rd party developers also have to deal with the same frustrations not to mention be aware that their sofware will not be run exclusivley.

the only real problem with microsoft os's is the security holes that it leaves open. again, when you're os is written to adapt to the needs of such a divers group of users, this type of behavior is to be expected...

i'm not trying to prove that pc's are better than macs or vice versa, i'm only pointing out that neither are superior to the other. they are both tools, each with their own purpose and each with their own flaws. find the tool that works for you and use it.
