Thank you guys. I can't afford to get another computer at this point so I'm buying a soundcard.
http://www.computermusic.co.uk does have a good round up review on soundcards. As for a good processor, what kind of set up is good enough for serious audio production? I have Pentium4 at 1.6Gh and 256MB RAM right now. I guess I should get more RAM as well.
