  the Nikon D300 handles noise very well with long exposures and high ISO speeds which you will need for live music concerts but all that is crap if you get a crappy lens.
  I recommend NOT to buy a lens online before you get to see it live. Some lenses are made of plastic instead of real glass, they're much lighter and the image quality is bad. Also buy a UV filter for your lens. it's a lot cheaper to replace a scratched filter than a lens.
