I've done several jobs for relatives and I don't see the big deal.
I get more respect of my opinion from relative than clients that think they know everything.
I have always had very flexible timelines with relatives.
I have always been paid on time and often given extra money/gifts.
Sure I've been asked to re-do things, ccan I see this another way, what do you think abotu changing this.. and I've always handled it the same way as with clients. Talked it over and educated them and things have always worked out fine.
My Dad wants me to do his website and his words were "just tell me what will work best and let me know how much it will cost and take your time, no hurry". I told him I'd start it middle of the year and he was fine with that.
Maybe I have either abnormal relatives or abnormal clients but I'd take a relative over a client any day.
