I'm looking into all this to get benefits for my guys and as far as I understand it, yes it's true. The employer gets insurance for the employees and the employees get it no matter what. BUT, as an employer, you will pay more for the coverage because you have an employee with a condition.

So from an employee standpoint it doesn't cost you anything more. If it's a $100 a month that's it with or without Cancer.... but the company they pay for the rest because you have it. That's why it's unethical to ask any health or marriage status questions when interviewing. Equal opportunity.

In your situation though you're screwed. A) Group plans by law usual require a group.. ie: 2 or more people. B) You are both the employer and employee of the LLC..... so you're paying more either way.
