If you have the money, go for the Pro. Save up if you don't. Either way, if you plan to have the machine for some time, go for the Pro. The Macbook is fine for nearly everything, but I will eventually have to replace it or get a new system. It probably shouldn't be the only machine (it's better as a side thing).
