I don't think it represents an improvement over the old homepage particularly.
I liked the old homepage, it showed much more information in a much cleaner layout. This new design is clunky and a bit too Fisher Price for my liking especially when you consider how much more space you're going to have to use if you have a lot of the "pods" switched on.
Still, it's nicely implemented, I'm just not liking the actual design.
