  There is a very good reason the superdrive only works on the Air, its because the Air has a special very high power usb port so the superdrive doesn't require an additional power plug, thus adding to the bulk of carrying it around.
  The whole idea is to reduce the weight and footprint a laptop has on your luggage, a power adapter for the external drive would take the piss.

  Besides no other mac should ever need one

  • Besides there are already portable DVD writers for firewire and usb 2.0 that work on macs. Don't see why you need an apple onemodern
