    If your going to spend the money I would get a MPC - 1000

    You can get the sounds from the 808, and pretty much any other drum machine in the world these days on the internet, and the MPC is much more versatile, as well as having the best hardware sequencing on the market today.

    I have been using one for years and have not looked back

    • ...got one of these too. if you buy new, make sure to get the bk-N, which has the new pads. the older ones suck. i had to replace the pads in mine for $180 :/subimage
    • but it seemed to me its used mostly for hip hop (or the like), am i wrong?usrper
    • nah...it's just a sampler/sequencer. doesn't have to be "just for hip hop". i'd get a small synth to pair with it though.subimage
