Yes, a more satisfying coin collection experience would be nice. Maybe it spins or pops away or PLINGs as invisiblechamber suggested.
Also, it can get difficult to manuever in tight spaces, which seems almost opposite of actually driving a Vespa. You should be able to turn in a tighter radius when going slower.
