  There are only 8 new episodes this season (due to the writer's strike) and if the strike goes on through February, they will 'hold on' to the last episode, and will not air it until later (as it is the 'cliffhanger' episode and they want the 'timing' right to air it.)

  (I saw a press release from ABC).

  40 more episodes are 'promised' between now and the series end in 2010

  • I'm thinking it was 5 or 6 that were recut into 8 due to writer's strike. It's near unwatchable with all those commercials.
