well, if you are going to be investing in a server, I would say investing in a tape backup unit would be logical. Then you would just have to be sure that users store all of their files on the server rather than their local machine. Another advantage of having a server would be that you could set up a VPN allowing your guys to access files on the server from wherever they are providing they have an internet connection.
