I agree. Diets do work. woody, I've got a buddy who's doing a weight watchers plan right now and he's down just over 30 lbs. over the last 6 months, which is great. He was topping the scale at 300+ lbs. ! I tried to give him all kinds of tips and workout regimens, but they all went to the wayside. But as soon as his Dr. told him his health was in danger he turned to w.w. I'm just glad he found something that worked. Their shit is beyond just the diet though. He has weekly weigh-ins and meeting support as well which is great. I told him as soon as he gets down around 250 I'm takin his ass running!

For anyone who doesn't want to go to WW or anything similar, then try to just use common sense. Simple math will lead the way: lower your caloric intake. If the amount of calories you take in are greater than the amount of calories you burn, well, there's your answer. Drop those calories and you'll see the change fairly quickly, even if ever so subtle. Of course, there's always wild cards involved: metabolic rates, thyroid issues, diabetes, etc.

    btw, good job woody!

    • i just added running to my workouts, I start with a 5k, weight train, then i workout 5 rounds on the heavy bag...it's rough!woodyBatts
