Stay around Union Square. Go to the Wharf, Northbeach for itlian, China town for Chinese, Union Square for shopping. Mission for odd little stores & nightlife... basically do all the tourist things. they're fun :)
There is a ton of things to do in SF, you'll have a great time... although it is cold right now, so bring a good jacket.
