It would really do you very well, no matter what the 'official' line is to be the smartest guy in the office, as for good or bad, it carries an immediate air of superiority and gravitas. You will come across as more intelligent, more together, sexier and more on the ball to your immediate peers, and seniors alike.
You'll do better work, faster, and be noticed more for it.
Nothing flashy, just a well cut, clean suit, matching tie, and the most expensive shirt you can afford.
I don't know how post-post modern it is, but fuck all of that, a sharp suit is worth every penny.
