Good luck in Nashville! I grew up there and couldn't tell you much to do besides hitting up the random hole-in-the-wall bluegrass bar.
There is a nice art musuem, The Frist, downtown in the old post office. Also, Hatch Show Print on Broadway is a must-see. There's a 'replica' of the Parthenon in Centennial Park by Vanderbilt. Hillsboro Village has a bunch of great shops and the Pancake Pantry (if you're into over-priced pancakes). If you want the best breakfast ever, head to the Loveless Cafe (west of the city on highway 100), which is an international destination for those that know. And that's about it!
Oh if you like Country music, then there's a shit-ton else to do, but I wouldn't know...
