South LA AREA

I know some areas south of LA. I don't go clubbing over there but there's some really dope food on crenshaw if you want some good soul food, african food or fish. You can stop just about anywhere there if you drive a little north of where you are into the baldwin hills area. People call it the black beverly hills because some parts are extremely nice. If you want to catch a movie I suggest seeing "This Christmas" at the magic johnson theatre or the bridge -- two theatres close to the area. If you haven't heard anything about that movie and you are black and dont mind getting a lil cheesey seeing it at a black theatre is pretty fucking fun.
Otherwise i bet something a little bit more your speed if going south on the 405 to long beach and check out some of the bars over in that area near the college and around there. Long beach tends to have a little more color and is a good mix of college scenester and locals.
If you have a car, check out Venice beach. There are some small bars on the boardwalk and main street where you can sit and watch the crazies go by. It's a great place to get "day drunk" on vacation.
