apple ram wtf!?

    I have a Powerbook G4 and I bought 1GB of Kingston RAM last year...however it didnt get on with my laptop at all...Everytime I installed a new program the bloody thing would crash and Id have to reinstall OS X...I didnt realise it was the non-apple RAM until Id had to reinstall OS X twice...is there something I am doing wrong here? As I type this the RAM is in a drawer in my desk cos I just got sick of having to take it out everytime I wanted to install a program...

    from my experience I would say dont waste your money on non apple RAM cos its more hassle than its worth...but has this changed since mac went intel?
