1) there is an argument within the scientific community on whether current thinking about race (that it is completely biologically non-existant) is going overboard, and that there are some significant traits associated with each race. ie, African Americans have a greater propensity towards sickle cell anemia and to a lesser extent heart diesase than the general population.
Now I'm not saying race determines psycological traits and so forth or that the racial stereotypes are true. But race as a biological construct is being questioned (despite my glib one-line answer) and you whipping out one newspaper article don't mean squat.
Plus, I can whip out a whole book by leading racial scholars to make your puny article look like a little mental weaking. (Racial Formation in the United States, by Michael Omi and Howard Winant.)
2.) If you agree race is sociological, but then say it doesn't exist, then we can just put some simple logic to use and conclude you're saying society doesn't exist.
3.) Please get off that elitist, marketeres-are-practicing-mind-c... crap.
