that happens when your HD is about to crap out
i would actually back up everything everyday
or when ever finish your work

That happened to me on my last pc, one of the drives crapped out and I lost loads of stuff and apps kept failing etc.
Fortunately I tend to keep a backup of music, photos and work but I really need to get round to buying that external backup drive I've been planning on for ages!
