    cheers. i don't really know how else to achieve the effect, i suppose i should be using oil paints because i use a texture medium and thickly applied paint just because i don't like flat paintings, hence why i put lights over darks a lot. i have to be /really/ slow for it not to go wrong.

    meh, guess i'll just suck it up. sounds like a problem i am causing by using the paint wrong.
