I agree with Fooler, there are lots of great bars around, and some divey ones around Hawethorne. Depends on what you're into.
I'm a few blocks from Laurelthirst, which is a good neighborhood bar. People here like to drink, so you shouldn't have too big of a problem finding somewhere.
