Yeah, rent first to get a better idea of where you'd want to eventually buy. The housing market? It depends on where you're coming from. Portland and Seattle have some of the strongest housing markets in the country. Still relatively affordable - 4-5 years ago was much more affordable. Still a little undervalued imo - especially compared to all the californians moving here (including myself).
