I like Horton's suggestions.
Must admit, I'm not really liking any of these, I'm afraid, Leftwave.
I feel like you started thinking about this in illustrator, pulling whatever vaguely relevant fonts you had from your collection and putting them together with a couple of trite devices.
I'd turn off the computer, take a notepad and pen and have a walk around town, dig through some magazines, have a coffee and just mull over the ideas '3 sisters' and 'gift company' puts in mind. Draw them out, no matter how naff they might at first appear - once you've got a couple of pages of doodles, flesh them out, then go back to your computer.
