best way to figure out what can happen is look at whats happening in Hong Kong cinema
they actually stopped releasing movies because of extensive pirating.
than you are wondering where all these movies are coming from. they are funded by china. If you make a movie is china, you are free from government control but now, most of the movie stars are doing TV shows there.
granted it is not as extensive here but rather the music is shit, manufactured, or little has to do with creativity, i think its more of a moral question for me than anything.
when you have not paid for something that and the person who owns the right did not consent it, i think its stealing.
think this way, recording companies invest in artist to release albums. if they are successful, they dont get paid. who is going to off set the balance their investments?
the idealistic view that you have of music could be the drawn from your experiences but from my experience is not from music industry, rather its just morality of my being. I just dont do it because i dont think its the right thing to do.
just because i dont do it, it doesnt mean that i am full of shit.
