Be careful, think of events like an NFL game or NBA game, these photographers have certain rules and regulations on how their images are used with or without the consent of the leagues. Other sports have similar rules and regualtions. It is always best to speak with an event coordinator about these issues. But for the most part, you can should be able to use your photos for self promotion ie. your portfolio and website however be careful when selling images and take into consideration who is in the phtoographs and what type of an event the photogra[h was taken from.
