  you have a few options.
  1. you can make a drop shadow by copying and pasting the image and then arranging it behind the original graphic and changing it's color to be grey (or whatever. you can dick around with this a bit to get different effects

  2. you can copy and paste the graphic and stretch/skew it until it is the mirror image of the original. you can then either change the color to a solid or a gradient that makes it look like it is fading into light.

  dig me? if you want a feathered edge look, you can play with gradient maps, but some programs will not accept this for reproduction.
