It's all about the studio environment, you can do great work for nearly any client, whether they're well-known, sexy or otherwise is irrelevent...
To each his own, but from what I've seen of the UK, outside of London, I'd really consider living in Brighton or Nottingham.. I'd actually prefer the smaller less pretentious cities that still have a good creative vibe...
