You can't drag and drop media onto the iPhone, you have to sync to playlists so... I'd create a playlist with the new content you want to have, name the playlist that is something unique so it doesn't confuse it with any playlist that may already on the phone. Plug the beatch in and sync.
I don't think it will just delete all the other playlists that are already on the phone.
No guarentees though :)
