Are you sure you want to video interiors? I'm getting a headache already thinking about all that semi smooth panning from a tripod.
I would invest in a good well corrected 10mm camera/lens combo like a Canon xti + Canon 10-22mm.
Anyhow, vid gear depends on your budget. Go 3 CCD if you can afford it. Go HD if you can afford it. I have used Canon XL2's and Sony VX2000's but they might me more than you need. I havent used many handy cams.
