the big difference with Applecare is they give full support for software and hardware and how to use it...(not just if its broken)
..meaning you can call them and ask them which button to push to make a movie or something... of course it it would help if they were really good at it... I've got some excellent diagnostics help from Applecare in the past (where they escalated an unusual query up to the development team level), but also some not so good service...
