Don't forget about €5-8K low interest secured bank deposit (on top of standard one month rent deposit) required by apartment owners in Madrid and BCN. Be prepared for tenant castings, usually there is a long list of people who are interested in a flat. If you're from Eastern Europe, you're not likely to be on top of it.
Also, if you register for freelance, there is an extortionist flat rate social tax of €250 no mattern if you earn something.
